Cory’s Story -- Last week, we were able to congratulate Cory Zink (08)
on making “A” grades as a freshman taking a sophomore history course in high
school. Cory and his dad attributed this success to the challenges and solid
grounding he received at Christ the King Lutheran School. If this had been the
only such story we heard in the past few days, we might think it was unusual. In
fact, it was one of three such testimonials.

Christina’s Story – Barbara Boyer reported with considerable pride last
Saturday night that her daughter, Christina Boyer (05) recently took the A.C.T.
exam scoring 35 out of a possible 36 on the language segment. Mrs. Boyer attrib-
uted this success to the challenging and thorough instruction in grammar, writing
and literature Christina received at CTK.

Tim, Adam, and Hayden’s Stories – These are best summed up in an E-
mail I received from a current parent – “ Just wanted to take some time to let
you know that I am very happy with CTK’s math program. The proof is in the
pudding, and the pudding is my children. After three years of advanced Saxon
Math with Natalie (Mrs. Martin) and one year of algebra with Jim Novy, Timothy
Bryson (07), along with two of his CTK classmates, went on to score in the top 5%
on the math portion of the entrance test for CBHS (Christian Brothers High School
– notoriously tough in math! – information in parentheses added by Mr. Wilt)...
Two of these students, Adam Herbison (07), and Hayden Roth ( 07), received
merit based Scholarships to CBHS. Only 8 out of a class of 250 received merit
based scholarships ....2 from CTK!
