Organizational Structure:
• Grades K through 4 are essentially organized as self-contained classes, taught by one teacher, except for adjunct instructors in computer, guidance, Spanish, music, and physical education, which are taught in addition to the core curriculum.

Grading Scale:
•    Kindergarten: Numerical grades are not given. Most of what is on a report is observed behaviors and masteries.
•    Grade 1: Grades are letter grades.
•    Grades 2–8: Grades are letter grades arrived at according to the following formula:    

             100% - 94%     A                   
               93%               A-                         
               92%               B+                 
               91% - 86%     B                     
               85%               B-
               84%               C+               
               83% - 75%     C                   
               74%               C-                     
               73%               D+                   
               72% - 69%     D                   
               68%               D-                     
               67% & below  F

Honor Roll and King’s Honor Roll:

•    Beginning with grade 4, students achieving a grade point average of 3.0 – 3.49 and 90% conduct grade are placed on the Honor Roll. An average of 3.5 – 4.0 and 90% conduct grade is high honors, or King’s Honor Roll. Averages are calculated from grades in all subjects, though core courses are weighted more heavily. Religion, science, math, grammar, history, literature, Spanish, art, music, computer, counseling and physical education are counted in averaging the GPA.

Honor’s Reception Requirements:
•    Honor Roll status in the first 3 quarters with at least one being King’s Honor Roll.
