The school seeks students of average to above average academic ability* from diverse social, economic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. Students are admitted to Christ the King Lutheran School and participate in its educational programs, financial programs, and school activities, without regard to race, color, sex, ethnicity, or national origin.
* Christ the King Lutheran School also has programs for the gifted and talented (see Horizons), and for a limited number of those needing extra help to develop their potential (see Discoveries and Plus). Procedure:
• Call the school office at 682-8405 to arrange a tour. Application forms can be obtained from the office, or you may download a copy. Enrollment Application forms and the tuition schedule are available by clicking on the "Enrollment Application" link to the right under "Admission Resources
• Fill out and return application forms, complete with health records, test scores and transcript from previous schools where applicable.
• Entrance tests are required of all new applicants in grades K-8. The cost is $55.00, payable at the time of testing.
• Interview with the principal, and/or the director of testing.
• Upon notice of acceptance, a registration fee of $325.00 is due within ten days to guarantee a place in the class.
Age requirements:
State law mandates that children entering kindergarten must be five (5) years old on or before September 30, of the year in which they are enrolled, and six (6) years of age on or before September 30, of the year that they enter grade one.
• Exceptions to this policy require that test scores, or other comparable evidence, be provided to insure that early admission is in the best interests of a child. There must also be unanimous agreement of the teacher, the preschool director (prior to grade 1).
