For our children we pray to Thee,

Dear God in heaven above,

That they may safe and happy be,

Surrounded by Thy Love.

 

Make them obedient, loving, kind;

Give them Thy Spirit, Lord,

And fix upon their heart and mind,

Thy precious, saving Word.

 

Give them a faith that’s strong in Thee,

A trust that rests secure;

And may they firm and faithful be,

When sin and world allure.

 

At home, away, by night or day,

Do Thou their Guardian be;

In every conflict, Lord, we pray,

May they remember Thee.

 

Then when their journey here is past,

Oh, bring them by Thy Love,

With us and ours to be at last,

Fore’er with Thee above.
