Parker products must be worn both in the interest of good uniform practice, and in fairness to all our families. Regular uniform items and dress uniforms listed below may be worn any day of the week, but dress uniforms must be worn on chapel days or on certain designated field trips.
Slacks and Shorts:
• Khaki Parker walking shorts (boys or girls)
• Khaki Parker slacks (girls and boys).
• Slacks and shorts are to be worn with a belt, except for children in K, 1st, and 2nd grades, who wear Parker slacks and shorts with elastic waistbands. Slacks & shorts will be worn with the waistband at the waistline, not at mid buttock.
Shirts and Blouses:
• Knit polo shirts in navy blue or red with school crest may be worn by girls and boys with slacks and shorts.
• Girls may also wear knit shirts with skirts, except on chapel days.
• Boys may wear their blue or white oxford shirts on regular school days if they choose, and girls may wear their yellow or white oxfords with slacks and shorts on such days as well.
• Shirts, overblouses, and blouses will be buttoned, except for the top button.
• Only solid white shirts are acceptable as an undershirt.
• Shirts and blouses are tucked in at all times. (except overblouses)
Skirts and Jumpers:
• Girls may wear the jumper or culottes with uniform blouse or knit polo shirts with the school crest (grades K-5) and the uniform skirt or culottes with oxford blouse or knit polo shirts with school crest. (grades 6, 7, and 8).
• Skirts and jumpers should place the hemline between one inch above and one inch below the knee.
• All buttons will be fastened on jumpers.
Turtlenecks:
• Are acceptable in cold weather, provided they are plain white, and worn under other garments, such as uniform sweatshirts, sweaters, or long sleeved shirts. They may also be worn under the jumper instead of the blouse. Turtlenecks are not worn alone, nor are they worn with short sleeved outer shirts. PLEASE NOTE: Warm-ups, or other CTK sports team sweatshirts, may be worn to games but shall not be worn as part of the regular uniform.
Socks or Tights:
• Will be worn at all times and must be solid red, white, or navy blue. No sweats or leggings allowed.
Shoes:
• Low cut athletic shoes in a color (white or navy) that coordinates with the uniform colors are acceptable, as are leather loafers or oxfords.
• No open toed or open heeled shoes, no sandals, no clogs, no “crocs”, and no boots are permitted. Shoes with laces must be laced and tied at all times.
Outerwear:
• Navy blue, white, or red vest, cardigan, or pullover style sweaters are acceptable. Sweaters other than Parker products are acceptable only if the weave is plain and the colors are white, red or navy blue.
• Sweatshirts bearing the Christ the King Cross & Crown logo are also acceptable when worn over a collared shirt.
• Parker also sells a full zip Polarfleece jacket with school monogram in navy blue that is acceptable. Though we have this uniform jacket, it is not a required item. Outerwear must not bear commercial logos, such as GAP, Tommy Hilfiger, Abercrombie, et.al.
The school requires that uniforms be worn for Physical Education classes in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8.
Dress or Chapel Day Uniforms:
• Boys, K-8th grade Khaki slacks with blue or white oxford cloth shirt
• Girls, K-5th grade Plaid jumper or culottes and white or yellow blouse
• Girls, 6th-8th grade Plaid skirt or culottes with white or yellow blouse
Dress uniforms are required on chapel days, and for some designated field trips. Ties are optional with the dress uniform for boys in grades 7 and 8. Coats are not to be worn during chapel.
PLACE NAME OR ID CODE ON UNIFORMS (Parker products have tags inside for the purpose).
Girls may wear:
• 1 pair small post earrings
• 1 necklace
• 1 watch
• 1 ring
• 1 bracelet
• Only light colored nail polish
• All jewelry should be in good taste and in accordance with Christian morals.
Boys may wear:
• 1 watch
• 1 finger ring
• 1 bracelet
• 1 necklace
NOT ALLOWED:
• Facial Jewelry (Boys and Girls)
• Body Piercing (Boys and Girls)
• Tattoos (Boys and Girls)
• Earrings on boys
Make-Up:
• Worn in moderation by girls in grades 6-8.
Hair:
• Hair must be neat, clean, and well groomed. (For boys hair must be out of the eyes, above the collar, and close to the ears.)
• Style should not be extreme and color should look natural.
