Science & Technology
Center (Phase 2 – Part 1) - Complete!
On October 13, 2002 Christ
the King Lutheran School broke ground for a new
5,000 square foot Science and Technology center.
Our new center
was dedicated in October 2003 and opened to the CTK
students, their families and CTK Church members at a
reception immediately following the dedication.
1. The New Science
& Technology Center has
- A large, light
filled, animal habitat friendly ,state of the art equipped science lab,
- A computer lab, which doubled
in size, has all new computers, internet, and
specialized work stations, and
- A new principal and
secretary offices, and a new reception and check in
area for the school.
2. Renovations to
the old church building, including the old principal's
and school office, and joining these renovations to the new facility
which then
created an attractive and visible new entrance to the
school.
3. Covered walkways will allow
travel from building to building during bad
weather.
4. The area between
Building two and three and the big playground has had
the drainage updated for better water flow. New
landscaping, sod and trees planted outside the new
building and along building three has updated the
grounds.
5.
Building 3 has had a new coat of paint which
blends into the new building colors; and some
landscaping has been done.
Renovated Gym - (Phase 2 – Part 2)
In May
2003, Christ The King Lutheran Church and School
launched a major gym renovation. This project was
completed in the summer of 2004 and dedicated to the
Glory of God in September 2004. The following
was completed during this phase:

A new roof
was installed over the gym building and adjoining
classrooms.

The inside
walls were reinforced with steel and the rest of the gym received a face
lift from floor to ceiling. The lower wall had a navy blue carpet-like material
put into place that will help control sound. The
upper portion was painted light
gray.

The ceiling
was painted white and new insulated panels were
installed for better sound control. New ceiling lighting
and red sock wind channels were installed for better air
flow throughout the gym.

The old
bleachers were replaced with light weight moveable bleachers.

The floor
was replaced with top quality maple hardwood.
-
The
entrance was widened with glass double doors.
Come
and see the changes, they are amazing!
Phase 1 -
The New Early Childhood Center
In 2002
we dedicated and opened our new preschool building -
CTK Early
Childhood Center. Capacity is 146 students. We
provide daily healthy snacks and hot lunches. We have a
MDO program, toddlers, three year old and four year old
programs. We have a 3 star rating by the State of
Tennessee.
