Science Fair Information
Here are some due dates that 7th and 8th graders will need to know for the 2012 Science Fair. All are invited to come to the Fair on March 2nd. The judging will begin at 9 AM, and the exhibits will be on display for the public from Noon to 6 PM.
OUr Current Topics
The 8th grade is learning about Darwin's ideas on natural selection. There's a lot of argument and unclarity when Christians discuss the potential for the evolution of species. Lee Strobel has authored a very helpful book titled "The Case for a Creator" that investigates arguments presented by the scientific community regarding God's role in creation and evolution. We'll use Strobel's work a lot in class this quarter.
The 7th grade has begun studying genes and heredity. Test your knowledge of Mendelian genetics with the Sponge Bob Challenge.
The 6th grade is learning to use microscopes as we begin studying the cell. Here's a page with lots of activities and quizzes to build up your knowledge of microscopes and cells.
