Meet Katie Blake

When did I begin working at Christ the King:

  • Beginning of the 2022-2023 school year 

The best thing about CTK is:

  • The community that has welcomed me with open arms – Also having supportive families in the classroom.

Educational Background:

  • I Graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Integrative Studies with a minor in Sociology from the University of Memphis in 2018. I graduated with my Master's Degree of Art in Teaching in Instruction & Curriculum Leadership with a focus on Early Childhood Education in 2022 from the University of Memphis. However, I have been in the classroom for 6 years teaching and working with children!

Favorite Bible verse/quote:  

  • Proverbs 31:26 "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue."

If I weren't doing what I do today, I would be a:  

  • veterinarian or anything with dogs :)

 

What "lesson from mom" do I still live by today:  

  • To be kind to everybody no matter the situation. You never know what others may be going through.

 

If I could spend a week anywhere in the world, it would be:

  • Italy

 

Favorite movie of all time: 

  • A Cinderella Story

 

Favorite sports team:

  • Memphis Tigers

Favorite food/restaurant: 

  • Huey's 

 

Best concert I've ever attended: 

  • Miranda Lambert

 

If I could learn to do anything, it would be:

  • Calligraphy

       

What am I most proud of:

  • When referring to myself, becoming a teacher and leader and overcoming various hardships throughout my life while still wearing a smile. Right now, I am most proud of my students and how much they have learned and continue to learn as they grow.
